From GPUs for genomics to generative AI
My PhD at the University of Michigan was about making GPUs easier to program and faster to run. I took that into genomics: Parabricks rebuilt genome analysis pipelines for GPUs, making them far faster and cheaper than the CPU tools labs were using.
NVIDIA acquired Parabricks in 2020. I led the team through the acquisition and grew it into NVIDIA's genomics platform, used by research labs and clinical teams around the world. Today I work on large language models and accelerated computing.
